"For the community, by the community"

About Community Solutions

Community Solutions is a registered charity that gives East London communities a voice.

We empower communities to respond to the needs of their local areas by mobilising their resources.

This includes working with community groups to:
  • Bid for funding
  • Provide ideas
  • Raise money
  • Run campaigns
  • Manage projects and services

Our charitable status allows us to provide a trusted framework for individuals and small groups.

Our charitable aims are broad enough to include the variety of people, services, buildings and areas in need of our support.

Community Solutions encourages all members of the community to meet and form the basis of discussions to tackle grass root issues.

The trustees of Community Solutions often found that differing groups had a common thread of trying to address similar local matters as smaller groups.

Community Solutions was more formally founded so that we could encourage a more cohesive action structure which would alleviate the pressures on smaller groups with less resources of time and administration.

Strengthening a sense of community

This encourages a bigger voice and an increased ability to target and engage support.

We are keen to continue to respond to the needs of local communities by strengthening their sense of community, or even creating it where that sense may not exist.

We currently do this by event organisation and management, organising and attending meetings, raising finances and supporting the development of community facilities.

The Trustees promise the community to promote for the benefit of the public in the area of East London the conservation and protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment.

We provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life.

This is supported by the guidance of the Charities Commission.
